How many days until Christmas?

When is Christmas?

Christmas Day is always on December 25. Christmas Eve falls the day before, on December 24.

Because Christmas has a fixed date, the only thing that changes from year to year is the day of the week it lands on. That matters when you’re planning travel, time off or a family gathering, since a weekend Christmas usually means a substituted public holiday on the nearest weekday in many countries.

Kids often count down in “sleeps” rather than days. The number of sleeps until Christmas is the number of nights between now and Christmas morning, which is the same as the number of days shown above.
